Flannel bedding gets softer with each wash but may pill (shed or produce lint) during the first few washes. This is natural—the new fibers shed with friction. A gentle washing cycle (washing in cold, tumble dry low) reduces how much the sheets rub together while in the laundry, which can help reduce pilling and lint. I got the white with shades-of- green leaves and dark red holly berries in queen size, and it is 100% as pictured, and an absolute delight in every way. Flannel material is soft and warm (and kitty-approved). I couldn’t be happier!! (Side note: this cover was ordered to replace the previous one, also from The Company Store, also beloved and in use for… I bet 15 years or more. *That’s* how good their products are!)

The fabric is not flannel, it is just some wierd heavy cotton, and the print is ugly. You can't tell in the picture, but the color is actually a really sad brown. No holiday, classic, or ultra-cozy about it. Not useable at all.

They are nothing like a soft cozy brushed flannel. They are stiff heavy fabric that is barely brushed. There is not real flannel nap to this fabric. Size of king is great. The envelope closure on the shams is so minimal that it does not hold together and cover the pillow AT all. It just sags open and is messing looking. I have another flannel duvet from another company that was less expensive and so much nicer in quality. I don't recommend!
